Education Support for Bomb Victim

Letter from Project Renew Please join us in thanking Manus Campbell for his generosity to sponsor a cluster bomb survivor with his College study. The monthly sponsorship will definitely help Nguyen Xuan Tuan, a 32 year old freshman at Mai Linh Vocational College, to fulfill his dream of having a job. In 2002, while searching for scrap metal around the former U.S. artillery base, Camp Carroll ( hill 241) Tuan struck a white phosphorus cluster bomb and suffered severe injuries. Since the accident, he has struggled to make a living selling lottery tickets. Read the letter to Manus that Tuan has written using his remaining left hand (with four fingers left). Dong Ha, 5 March 2014 Dear Mr. Manus I am Nguyen Xuan Tuan who got a chance to meet with you on a beautiful day at the Mine Action Visitor Center. Though we met for the first time and did not talk much, I still hold on to such a nice memory. Today I was overwhelmed with appreciation when I got the good news from Mr. Hien and Mr. Phu that you gave money to help my study. I was so moved that I was choked to tears to receive your donation. It was a privilege to meet you. Now I am motivated and very confident. That privilege has helped me spiritually and materially to take firm steps into the future. I will try my best to study so that you and the two brothers won't have to be disappointed about me. Thank you so much and I wish you joyfulness and good health. I am looking forward to meeting you again soon. Thank you very much. Nguyen Xuan Tuan
